This is one of my earliest guides, written in 1997. I had the gold masters for Riven from Red Orb, and only had one week in which to review Riven and write this guide for the now defunct Games Domain review. Riven hit the streets the very next day. I took quite a bit of flak for my review, because I thought that having 4 years development time since Myst, they could have done better. In retrospect, I was a bit harsh. Riven is one of the best puzzle-based adventures ever produced.

This guide still remains one of the most popular Riven guides on the web, because I explain the *why* behind all the puzzles, rather than just providing your typical do-this-to-solve-that solution.
